There are some little rumblings out there that suggest that some people in the media are kind of trying to make KD's new and official nickname "The Gift."  His other nicknames, "junkyard dog," "Durantula," etc aren't working anymore.  They sound cheap and KD is about to become the face of American basketball and probably basketball in general after this summer's Olympics.  He needs a more refined nickname.  So I am all for "The Gift."

And what's better is that Russell Westbrook is in a similar situation.  His nicknames are old too.  His original nickname "The Honey Badger" was stolen by the guy from LSU last fall and now Danica Patrick is the honey badger too.  That means he also needs a new nickname.

KD is nice, smiley, adorable, etc.  He's the kind of kid that you want babysitting your children.  He is like a nice "gift."  Russell however, is sometimes cranky, resentful, and disobedient. He does what he wants. These are all qualities that we come to love about him though.  He's sort of like a curse.  His nickname should be the "Curse" and this is my own creation.
