D1 Tutorial 4 Sara

Today I will be showing you how you can take photos that you took at home and give them a studio look.

First you will find the photograph that you are wanting to fix up.

Now you want to choose what you want to stay. I want the wall and crib bars out but I am keeping the blanket that she is sitting on. So you choose your eraser tool and starting clearing out the junk. This photo really isn't too bad but this technique works great if you took a photo of a friend or loved one and the background is a mess. I know I have some of those laying around my house.

Now there she, is all ready for a studio backdrop.

First create new layer to make the studio backdrop.

Now select a color to be the base layer. I first tried blue to compliment the purple dress but it did not go well with the blanket. So play around, pick something that will look good with the other objects in the photo.

Now select the Paint Bucket tool and fill the entire space.

Now go to the Filter tab - Render than select Clouds. This does not look a lot like real clouds but it works great for those vague backdrops. The photo below was before I changed my color to green so ignore the blue :).

Now you have your studio background all you have to do is move the layer below the layer with the child

You are all done,  flatten your image and it is ready to print.

this just seems like something we would all already know how to do
